What more could you ask for?
The City of Mendoza
When you visit Mendoza, be sure to spend time in the city itself rather than focus entirely in the wine regions. The city is clean and beautiful, has sprawling parks with the Andes towering overhead and is filled with vibrant restaurants, bars, markets and of course, history.
We stayed at an AirBnb located near the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, walking distance to many of the cities main attractions. From here we could easily walk to the bars/restaurants/shops located on Av. Arístides Villanueva and explore further outward to some of the other city highlights (Plaza Independencia and Lago Del Parque General San Martin, to name a couple)
Uco Valley Wine Region
There are three main wine regions in Mendoza: Maipu Valley, Lujan de Cuyo, and Uco Valley. The Uco Valley is a bit further out, but is said to be the most beautiful of the regions, so we stuck to this region on our visit. Had time allowed, we likely would’ve visited all 3 regions. We opted for a private tour with Trout and Wine and had a truly perfect day. While this was a bit pricier than we would normally spend on a tour, we agreed it was worth the price to immerse ourselves in this region for a day.
Our favorite of the vineyards we visited was Bodega Andeluna. Here we enjoyed an eight course lunch with wine pairings, had coffee and desert on the patio overlooking the Andes and got to know our awesome tour guide from Trout and Wine. If you come to this region, don’t miss out on this vineyard!
